This guy was really grouchy, but proud, as you can see from his ID tag. He allowed me to take exactly two photos before saying, "C'est fini!" between strokes of his bow.
Kev, I am really just blown away by the color and clarity in all your recent images. Is the 5D that sharp out of camera or do you have to hit it a bunch with USM.
The color is what get's me. Is it workflow related or has sensor technology come along that allows colors to pop a bit? I've always found digital images with CMOS sensors to be very drab. That's why I keep using my 1D. It doesn't have that issue.
I shoot in RAW and process everything with Capture One, which gives amazing control over tonality, saturation and dynamic range. The sharpness comes from me being really fussy about lenses. Also, `manyk loaned me his fancy Canon cable release for this trip, so even with my flimsy 1.5lb tripod, I was able to keep the camera steady for my architecture shots. This shot was taken with the 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM. It weighs a friggin' ton, but the stabilization in this lens lets me shoot in pretty dark places without a tripod.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
